Frequently asked questions about certified vegan skincare

Are all Antipodes products vegan?

Many Antipodes products are certified vegan by the UK Vegetarian Society, while every Antipodes product is certified vegetarian.

Antipodes products that are not vegan contain ethically sourced bee-derived ingredients such as New Zealand mānuka honey or beeswax.

To make vegan skincare easier to shop, we’ve curated our certified vegan products together on this dedicated vegan collection page.

What is the difference between vegan and vegetarian skincare?

Vegan skincare contains no animal-derived ingredients. Vegetarian skincare may include ingredients produced by animals, such as mānuka honey or beeswax.

Every Antipodes skincare product is certified vegetarian, with a wide range also certified vegan. Our haircare range contains mānuka honey, so is not consided vegan.

Does vegan skincare mean natural and organic skincare?

No. Vegan simply means a product contains no animal-derived ingredients. Many vegan skincare products are made primarily from synthetic ingredients.

At Antipodes, we take a natural-first approach, creating certified vegan and vegetarian formulations with high-quality botanical ingredients and evidence-led skincare science.

Are Antipodes skincare and haircare products cruelty-free?

Yes. Our vegan and vegetarian products are certified by the UK Vegetarian Society, which verifies that no animal testing has taken place on the finished product or throughout the ingredient supply chain. This provides independent assurance that our products meet recognised cruelty-free standards.

Who certifies Antipodes vegan skincare?

All Antipodes vegan products are certified by the UK Vegetarian Society, one of the world's most respected independent vegan and vegetarian certification bodies. Look for the Vegetarian Society Approved Vegan logo on our vegan products.
