Em Ford falls in love with NZ

It’s the first time Antipodes has hosted a UK beauty blogger, but we had a great time with Em Ford when she recently flew 18,000km down under to help us launch our new healthy Moisture-Boost natural range of lipsticks.
The winner of the Best Beauty Instagrammer 2016 award, Em has more than one million followers on Instagram and around 890,000 on YouTube. So we were thrilled when she accepted our invitation to join us in Wellington and Sydney to help launch our 12 stunning Moisture-Boost natural lipsticks, which celebrate the spectacular scenery and premium produce of New Zealand.
Em travelled in style, thanks to our award-winning national carrier, Air New Zealand, who kindly upgraded her to Business Class between Shanghai and Auckland. She loved the service and the fact that being able to sleep in the life-flat beds meant she arrived home without the usual jet-lag.
We were also envious of Em’s Hermes luggage, gifted to her by the New Zealand connection for the legendary Paris-based fashion house. Established in 1837, the signature Hermes leather bags are synonymous around the world with elegance and luxury.
It might have been somewhat of a whirlwind trip, but Em managed to see some of this beautiful land we call home, including a visit to Boomrock, a 3,000 acre working farm and popular wedding and event centre outside of Wellington. With spectacular views over Cook Strait and out to the South Island as a backdrop, Em tried clay pigeon shooting for the first time, took a four-wheel drive across rugged terrain and enjoyed lunch overlooking the sea. Did we mention she also flew out to Boomrock in a helicopter? Em told the Antipodes team present and staff at Boomrock, that it was "the best day of her life!"
Em was also lucky enough to have renowned Wellington make-up artist Hil Cook do her hair and makeup before the Broomrock visit. It’s when she picked her favourite of our new Moisture-Boost natural lipsticks - Queenstown Hot Chocolate.
We spent a couple of days in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, where Em enjoyed visiting Takapuna Beach and attended a media breakfast with around 25 of New Zealand’s leading beauty writers, bloggers and key buyers.
And then it was off to Sydney for a lightening quick visit, where Em presented another breakfast for around 40 media and helped us to launch our new Moisture-Boost natural range into Australia.
Our first partnership with a UK beauty blogger was a busy one, but it was also a lot of fun and we’d love to see Em back this way sometime soon.
